Family Promise of Montgomery County

Family Promise of Montgomery County (FP) is a non-profit organization that serves homeless families with children.  The goal is to assist homeless families to procure and maintain full-time employment, to find affordable housing, to have safe and affordable transportation, and to ensure that their children are in school and/or day care.  Life skill classes to help with budgeting, personal finance, nutrition, parenting, etc. are also provided.

The FP client housing has evolved from a “host church/hotel” model to static site model which is capable of housing 6 families at the same time in a community setting.   Each family has their own bedroom and bathroom for sanitation, privacy, and accountability.  The facility also has a computer lab, children’s playing area, and a common warming kitchen, dining room, and family gathering area.  For more information on Family Promise of Montgomery County, click here.

WCPC supports Family Promise through the Benevolence budget and provides volunteers for overnight hosts, drivers, and to provide evening meals.  Watch future WCPC publications and the MOT Bulletin Board for volunteer opportunities.
