DeGeorge at Union Station

The DeGeorge at Union Station is a non-profit organization that provides a “forever home atmosphere” for formerly homeless veterans, both male and female of any age, as there are no time limits on length of stay.  They work with the veterans to identify any mental and/or physical health needs and then to find service providers and treatment options. The DeGeorge makes many basic services available to the vets in residence including computer station, copy machine, van transportation for medical appointments, emergency food pantry and new household items upon arrival (bed linens, towels, hygiene kits, etc.).  Many area agencies such as the VA Regional Office and Social Security, offer on-site services. In addition, the DeGeorge creates educational as well as social opportunities for the veterans.  To learn more about the De George, go to De George at Union Station or follow them on Facebook.

WCPC supports the DeGeorge through the Benevolence budget and provides supplies and volunteer help on an ad-hoc basis.  Watch future WCPC publications and the MOT Bulletin Board for volunteer opportunities.
