Provide Hospitality - Locally
Everyone is Welcome
Hospitality is one of the most fundamental acts of kindness, and we strive to be gracious hosts to everyone.
"The sojourner...shall come and eat and be filled."
Deuteronomy 14:29
Birthday Parties
Every August we host the monthly Birthday Party at Copperwood Apartments, home for disabled and elderly residents. This is a fun way to do something important for our closest neighbors.
Senior Center Worship Team
Every 4th Wednesday at 10:30am you’ll find our energetic Worship Team at Regent Care Center. They are always looking for hand-holders, singers and scripture readers. Bring your small children, too!
The Gathering Place
It looks like a party, with decorations, crafts, music, food and lots of fun. It is actually a respite ministry for families affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias. New helpers are always welcome! This program is made possible through Interfaith CarePartners.
Common Ground
This support group for families affected by Alzheimer’s Disease meets during one hour of The Gathering Place. It is open to anyone in the community, regardless of participation in The Gathering Place. This group is made possible through Interfaith CarePartners.
Casa Juan Diego
On an occasional basis, we give practical support to Casa Juan Diego, a shelter for Spanish-speaking immigrants in Houston. We may play with the children or do maintenance chores, so no Spanish is required.
Contact Casa Juan Diego for more information.
ESL Children’s Program
Almost 200 people attend English as a Second Language on our campus. We are happy to provide a children’s program for the day students. This program includes a preschool for Kindergarten preparation.
