Alternative Christmas Market
Almost every fall season we hold an Alternative Market. This means you can purchase Christmas gifts that promote fair trade, support a variety of compassionate ministries and are environmentally friendly.
Prayers and Fasting for Global Hunger
Beginning in January of 2009, we are encouraged to participate in monthly weekend-long fasts and prayer on the weekends that include Sunday communion (usually the last weekend). The program will begin Friday evening and end with communion on Sunday morning. The purpose is to help us focus on the problems of global hunger so that we may be inspired to compassionate action. Pick up a packet every month in the Narthex, beginning January 4.
This is a church-wide project, sponsored by the Presbyterian Hunger Program.
Peacemaking Offering
We celebrate World Communion Sunday with this offering which supports global peacemaking efforts of the denomination. Our congregation designates 25% of the offering for a local ministry that we believe demonstrates peacemaking in a special way.
