Weekly Studies 

In addition to our Sunday School Classes, there are many opportunities for learning throughout the week.  Among them are:

 

 

Sunday Afternoon Study Group: This group is led by Susan Duncan.  The group is studying the Disciple Short Tem Bible Studies starting with Genesis. Meeting dates are the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month from 6-7:30 pm.  New students are welcome and can join us at any point.  The class starts with discussion and then watches a 30 minute video presentation on the week's Bible lesson.  

 

 

Monday morning Women’s Study Group: Members of the class take turns leading this all-women’s group each Monday in Annex F from 9:30-11:30 .

 

 

Mom's Etc.: This group of moms with children in the birth – 5 year range is led by Amy Lothringer and Stephanie Keiser. This group meets on Monday at the church in H-1 for various activities & studies. On the last Monday of each month, this group will meet in H-1 from 9:30-11:30am to study "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" by Joanna Weaver. Check the bulletin or contact the leaders or church office for more information about Mom’s Etc.’s other evening and weekend outings or activities. 

 

 

Wednesday Morning Men's Study Group: Rev. David Jones leads this on-going  men’s study in the parlor, every other Wednesday from 6:30am – 7:30am. This group is going through Derek Maul’s book Get Real: A Spiritual Journey for Men. This book and group offer straight talk about faith, family, and desire for God. The first meeting in September is September 9th.

 

 

Wednesday Morning Study Group: This group, led by Sylvia Campbell, will start up again on September 16th. Women and men are encouraged to join them on Wednesdays in H-1 from 10:00am – 11:30am to study Eclipsing Empire: Paul, Rome, and the Kingdom of God. Join preeminent New Testament scholars Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan on location in Turkey as they trace the Apostle Paul’s footsteps throughout the Roman Empire. This 12-session DVD and participant guide study explores fresh insights into Paul’s message of the Kingdom of God, its challenge to Roman imperial theology, and the apostle’s radical relevance for today.
