Bereavement Team Needs New Volunteers
“Bear each others’ burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
- Galatians 6:2
If you have ever lost a loved one, you may know about the details involved in planning and preparing for a memorial service and reception. Our church has a group called The Bereavement Team who assists the pastors in caring for church members who have lost a family member. This group prepares church facilities, provides refreshments for the family, receives and arranges floral arrangements, and hosts receptions following memorial services. We are in need of some more volunteers to be “on call” when there is a death in our congregational family. If you are interested in serving on this important ministry team, please contact Tricia MacDonald by phone at 936-273-3026 or by e-mail at pmacdonald@consolidated.net.

Stephen Ministry at WCPC
Stephen Ministers bring distinctively Christian care to those in need. They express Christ's care for others--listening, comforting, and encouraging, calling on the training they have received and employing the tools of faith. If this might fit your personal goals for ministry, please consider becoming a Stephen Minister. We are planning another training class starting here in January. For more information, please talk with one of our Stephen Ministry Leaders: Jim Holly, Bill Ashby, Jeri Simpkins, Linda White, Jody Schoger, Ken Burtt, or Sheri Burtt. You can also learn more about Stephen Ministry at WCPC by following the Stephen Ministry link on the WCPC website at www.wcpc-tx.org.

Shopping Cards
Kroger Cards
It is time to throw away the old “Kroger Share Cards” that you used to carry to the store. Kroger Stores have a new program called Neighbor to Neighbor. Pick up a Customer Letter from our Hospitality Desk or the church office. Take it to Kroger and have the bar code scanned when you check out with your Kroger Plus Card. Then, every time your Plus Card is swiped on future visits, it will trigger a donation to WCPC. And we pass every penny along to The Community Clinic.
Randall's Cards
Your Randall's Card can trigger a donation to the Community Clinic. How? Just stop by the Customer Service desk and ask them to link your card to #1321. That is our church number, but we pass all the proceeds to the clinic.
Join the Mow 'n Blow Crew
Help keep the church ship shape. We need volunteers for mowing, trimming and blowing the grounds on Saturdays. Sign up and we’ll put together crews of 3 so you only need to do it once every few months. Join with a child or friend and help the church together, or join on your own and work with some new friends. All equipment is at the church and as much direction as needed will be provided. Contact Carol at 281-363-2040 or Bill Bray at 281-419-0373.
