Children's Education

Sunday School

The Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church provides a rotation Sunday School curriculum for our children ages 3 years through 6th grade. This means that in each month a different topic is studied and on each different Sunday during that 3-4 weeks, the topic is explored through drama, cooking, arts and crafts, and science, for example. We meet at 9:45 am Sundays for a fellowship time called Jesus Jam in the courtyard or Fellowship Hall Narthex. Then children are split into age groups at 10:00 am and go to their activity room with Shepherds until Sunday school ends at 10:50 am.  Parents can check the lighted sign post in the CE building hallway to find out what room to pick their children up from each week.

Fall 2010 Study Topics:

Starting with the Sept 12 Kick Off we will be doing a 6 week study using P.R.A.Y. religious award materials with 1st-6th grades.  Bible concepts covered include Jesus loved children, creation, Jesus' birth, prayer, and mission.  The younger children Pre-K and Kindergarten will be using te Walk with Me curriculum to study the corresponding Bible lessons at their own level.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer we present a Vacation Bible School for one week during the summer from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Each day starts with everyone together for the presentation of the day, and then the students go by age groups to science, recreation, snack, music, and arts and crafts. Vacation Bible School takes a lot of people to make it happen and we would even like to consider offering it twice since we always are sold out! If you are interested in helping in this area contact Susan Duncan.  Coming Summer 2011 our VBS theme will  be Shake It Up Cafe!
